The Personal Journey
After completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art, Art History and Anthropology from James Madison University I pursued a career in soccer. A knee injury and the folding of the Professional Women's soccer league opened a window of opportunity for another career path. In October of 2002 I chose to attend the Baltimore School of Massage training program where I completed the Professional Massage Training Program and obtained a license in massage therapy. Since finishing the program which included Swedish, Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release, I have continued my studies in Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Reflexology, Lymphadic Massage, Zero Balancing, CranialSacral work and a thorough study of NeuroMuscular Therapy. As I entered the tenth year of my massage career, I graduated from the Hagerstown Community College School of Nursing and obtained being a Registered Nurse. After spending many hours caring for patients in the Intensive Care Unit at the local hospital my appetite to learn and understanding more about wellness and healing grew! I completed the Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Maryland University of Integrative Health in December 0f 2017. For the past five years I have grown my practice while continuing to study the depths of Chinese Medicine. A few highlights of my studies have been in Fertility treatment both with herbs & acupuncture, Wei Ke (topical) herbals, the Eight Extraordinary vessels, & currently a more thorough understanding of treating pain. Today my vision is to understand the uniqueness of each person's suffering ands provide truly individualized care. With the tools of Acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage/Tui Ni and the nursing perspective, I will partner with each patient and see each person as a unique whole and offer to them individualized compassionate care.
